Lecture Series
Topics are
intended to promote understanding and appreciation of Filipino and Filipino
American achievements, history and culture, and to provide a forum for dissemination
of information on issues relevant to the community. Scheduled monthly on week
nights from 7:00 p.m.Ð 9:00 p.m.
Leadership
Development Program
Program aims
to develop workplace coping skills, conflict resolution skills, strategy building
skills, and pragmatic coalition and advocacy skills that can assist in interactions
with various professionals and key leaders in various fields of endeavor.
Pamana
Music Circle
Promotes appreciation
of classical Filipino music and provides opportunities to enjoy private performances
by Filipino American artists. Meets occasionally in private homes throughout
the Greater Los Angeles Metro Area.
Children's
Storytelling
Imparts history
and culture of the Philippines through the reading of Filipino folktales to
children. Meets on selected Saturday afternoons.
Summer
Cultural School
A half-day
Saturday program providing elementary school children with continuing educational
programming focusing on Philippine history, geography, language and culture.
Play-reading
Group
Provides avenues
of creativity, self-expression, and continuing community exposure to Filipino
American playwrights, actors, directors and other theater enthusiasts.
Book
Launchings
Promotes new
works by Filipino and Filipino American authors.
